Abstract

A Pot experiment was conducted to study the interactive effect among soil content of gypsum , soil depth and irrigation water salinity on growth and yield of wheat . the experiment was conducted at khaldiyah city (Ghazwan jazira) anbar governorate during the season 2008/2009 in plastic pots )70cm high , 42 cm diameter )by using the complete randomized design , experiment concluded three factor , the first was soil content of gypsum (G) with two levels 98 and 195 gm .kg-1 soil . the second was soil depth (D) with two depth 15 and 30 cm and the third factor was irrigation water salinity (W) with three levels 1.13 , 2.65 ,3,80 ds.m-1.treatment were irrigated after losing 50% of available water . plant high , dry weight of plant , grain yield , weight of 1000 grains were measured , results showed that :
1. Soil content of gypsum , soil depth , irrigation water salinity and interaction between soil content of gypsum and soil depth led to significant effected on plant hight and the following mathematical relationship was obtained
=0.6672R 22.76W-1.322G+0.119D+13.903 W+0.035GD-Y=95.046
2. Soil content of gypsum and irrigation water salinity led to significant effect in dry weight of plant and the following mathematical relationship was obtained .
= 0.988 2R 20.939W-+4.880W0.064G-Y=0.293
3. Soil depth and irrigation water salinity led to significant effect in weight of 1000 grain and and the following mathematical relationship was obtained
0.878 2R 21.607W-0.249D+9.256W-Y=20.661
4. Soil content of gypsum soil depth and irrigation water salinity led to significant effect on crop yield and the following mathematical relationship was obtained
=0.5052R 20.574W-0.073G+0.045D+2.749W-Y=3.201
