Abstract

The objective of this study is to investigate the influence of Lquoric (Glycyrrhizin glabra ) root as a feed additive on age at puberty of 40 crossbreed kids (1/2 Local Iraq x l/2 Damascus ) , aged 4 month and weighed 13.25 ± 0.34 kg .
Animals of the first group treated with 0.25 g / kg live weight from Liquoric root, while the second group treated as a control group. The results of this study show no significant effects of Licorice root on average daily gain (0.062 vs. 0.064 kg) and final body weight ( 20.93 vs. 21.44 kg ) . There were no significant effects of Licorice root on the age and on the body weight at puberty, which averaged 204. 78 ±4.49 days and 17.72± 0.42 kg respectively .The correlation coefficients between age at puberty and each of body weight were 0.38, 0.31 and - 0.32 respectively. Whereas, the correlation coefficient between weight at puberty and each of daily gain in weight and initial body weight were 0.61 and 0.27, respectively.
