Abstract
In this research same physical properties represented by temperature , , Turbidity , and some chemical properties ( PH , Total Hardness , electrical conductivity (EC) and sodium adsorption ratio , SAR ) and the concentrations of ( K , Na , Ca , Mg , Cl , SO4 ) were measured for the water of springs , deep and medium depth wells and Euphrates in Heet and Al-Ramadi cities . A comparison of water quality with the values adopted globally was accomplished to demonstrate the suitability for human and irrigation use.The results showed that the values of pH of the studied water were moderate to weak base with a range between 6.5 and 7.8 . It was noted that EC values were high, and unsuitability of all water samples for drinking and validity of river water for irrigation , while TH values exceeded the standards for well's and springs' water . Values of SAR calculated from Na concentration demonstrated that water samples taken from wells shallows and river can be used for irrigation , Springs' water of heet whose values were high ranging , this was not suitable for irrigation because of exceedingly values of K concentrations. This was also applicable to Mg and Ca concentrations which were highly except for river and few wells. Concentrations of C1 were within permissible limits for tap water in river water only . While for SO4 , concentrations were exceeded the allowable limits in all samples, a potential salinity for Springs' water was showing not suitable for irrigation in all types of soils.
