The use of fungus Beauveria bassiana (Bulsamo) on tuber moth Phthorimaea operculpella (Zell.) in the Laboratory

AbstractStudy was conducted in the insect pathology Lab. Plant Protection Dept.- College of Agriculture/ Baghdad University in the year 2009 to know the effect of the fungus Beauveria bassiana on different stages of potato tuber moth Pathorimaea operculella. The result indicate that the egg mortality was 76.6% of the dilution of 6.8 ×10-4 spore/ml while in control it was zero. The mortality of first larval instar was 95.0% at the dilution of 6.8 ×10-1 spore/ml. While it was 5% in the control treatment. The mortality for the forth larval instar was 55% at the dilution of 6.8 ×10-1 spore/ml. The emergence percentage of male pupa was 46.6% at dilution of 6.8×10-1 spore/ml. While in the control it was 100%. The emergence percentage of female pupa was 40% at dilution 6.8 ×10-1 spore/ml and was 91% in the control. The total mortality for the three dilutions of fungus 6.8×10-1,6.8 ×10-2, 6.8 ×10-4 spore/ml reached 100% compared to 1% in the control treatment.
