Abstract

The aim of this research is to estimate the productivity function of potato crop in the Anbar province (for the spring season 2009 ) Anbar province has been chosen as an applied model for the study because it's the province which is famous in cultivating potato crop , and the data were collected through a random sample with a (150) View , distributed to five districts in the province it's (Falluja , Al ramadi , Alqaiem , Rawah , Anaa ) , by using four function (Linear , double logarithmic , logarithmic Half , Inverse logarithmic Half ) , showed that the double logarithmic formula was the best representative of the relationship between crop productivity and.
independent variables (quantity of potato tubers quantity of stuffs herbicided , quantity of fertilizer , hours of mechanical labour , hours of human labour and number of irrigation water in season ) according to economic theory as well as statistical and standard tests, ( R2 ) was (0.879) which means that (88%) of the changes in potato productivity caused by input factors in model, The results indicated that all variables were significant , value reach total elasticity’s of the unit area productivity function for the spring season (0.981) indicating to decreasing return to scale, unit area productivity average for the potato crop was (6.6398) ton per donum for the spring season .
