AbstractAn experiment was conducted some factorial the processing conditions of fish feeds pellet by adjustment the grinding fineness with two levels (1 and 2.3 mm), and meal moisture with three levels (39.2, 42.4 and 45.5 %), pellet temperature rise, pellet expansion ratio, pellet density, pellet settle velocity and pellet water absorption were studied in this study experiment. A factorial experiment with a completely randomized design CRD with three replications was used, this experiment was performed in fish laboratory in the college of agriculture/university of Baghdad during 2008.
Results showed that the changing in grinding fineness from 1 to 2.3 mm gave significant increase in the pellet temperature, pellet water absorption while both pellet expansion ratio and pellet settle velocity were significantly decreased, where as there no significant effect in pellet density. the changing in meal moisture from 39.2 to 42.4 and to 45.5% caused significantly decreased in pellet temperature, density, settle velocity and pellet water absorption, where as there no significant effect in pellet expansion ratio.
