Abstract
AbstractAssay were performed to obtain embryogenic callus lines from three citrus rootstocks(sour orange, sweet orange, and swingle stirumelo)by growing stem and leaf segments, cotyledons, and epicotyls explants excised from in vitro young seedling of 6-8 weeks old.
It was evident that epicotyls was the best explants in callus production following six weeks of culture on MT medium supplemented with (mg/l) NAA (2.5), 2,4-D (0.25) and K (0.5) . However, the best medium for embryogenesis contained BA (0.25), NAA (0.1) and ME (500). No differences in chromosomal number were observed in the plants obtained from different propagation methods (2n=2x=18).
