AbstractThis experiment was conducted at Karwan commercial Farm for broiler breeder in Murtka village belonged to Vano Poultry Companies Group, for the period from 02/12/2009 to 02/03/2010 using Ross 308 commercial broiler breed. This study aimed to adding (3) kg of anise seeds per 1 ton of feed and (1) litter oil anise per 1 ton of feed.
The objectives of this study were to determine the effect of anise seeds and oil on productive performance, egg quality traits, broiler breeder immunity character.
The Results showed significant increasing (P<0.05) in egg production percentage (H.H.%), uniformity percentage, whole egg quality traits (egg weight, Yolk radius,
Yolk index, Yolk height, albumen height, Haugh unit and egg shell weight and its thickness), percentages of hatching, fertility, hatching percentage in fertile egg and weight of hatching birds and significant improve on feed conversion ration was shown by using seeds anise, also there were a significant increasing in the third month as compared with other. Treatments with seed anise caused a significant decreasing (P<0.05) in the percentages of unfertile egg, dead embryos in early or late age, disabled or weakness chicks.
Significant increases (P<0.05) were noticed in T3 (seed anise treatment) in the immunity inspections for Newcastle (ND), IBV and Gamboro (IBD) diseases as compared with other treatments.
