Abstract
This study was conducted on 40 sheep of Awassi Turkish with different ages to determine the relationship between the udder measurements and milk production and its components and its impact on the growth of lambs, milk production was measured weekly until weaning of Lamb ( 3 month of age ), milk components were analyzed bya Milk Analyzer July Z 21 . The averaged were Daily milk production, the percent of
fat, protein and lactose 724.72 g, 4.64%, 3.92%, 5.81% , respectively. Udder measurements specifications length, depth ,wide the udder, the distance between teats and its were measured bi - weekly from the third week of lambing to weaning. The correlation coefficient between these measurements and milk production were significant and ranged between 0.157 - 0.558 . Body weight were recorded at birth , and then every tow week until weaning . The overall birth weight weaning and the rate of gain weighted birth were averaged 4.18 kg , 24.29 kg, 0.225 kg , respectively. The coefficient of correlation between the amount of milk production with birth weight and the rate of gain were higher significantly and ranged between 0.14 - 0.47 .In conclusion this study have been showed a positive relationship between the milk production with all the udder measurements and birth weights, So that , it can be say, the morphology of udder triat in the ewe can be use by the breeders to select ewe accordining to above triats when he select the female .
