Abstract

The first study was conducted in Baghdad-al-Zaafarania to determine the appearance and occurrence of Dacus ciliatus (Lowe) in Al- Zaafarania-Baghdad during the successive seasons of 2013. Results have Indicated that the adults began to emerge during the last tenth days of April in the spring season in 1,2 and control tests location while the adults began to emerge during the last tenth days of March in the 3ed test location . Results also indicated that the food and pheromone traps can be reduced the infestations in the two types of cucumber fruit, which studied.
the second stage of this study in 2014 was carried out in Wasit , Babylon and Baghdad provinces to evaluate the effect of plant trap ,design of traps , height of traps and the number of traps / area unit on their efficacy in reduction of infestation . The results showed that the plant traps that treated with insecticides were contributed in reduction of infestation above to 45%. The best kind of trap with insect attractants to control this pest was Jackson trap that produced by Russell company. This study was also showed that the best height of traps was with the plant surface; and the best number of traps per unit area was 4 traps at the beginning of season and 12 traps at the end of season
