Abstract

This experiment was carried out in the laboratories of fish and animal resource center-agricultural research directorate for 70 days from 7/3/ - 18/5/2016 to study the effect of using rice bran (Oryza Sativa) treated by heat and diet enzyme on productive characteristics of small common carp fish Cyprinus carpio L. The 108 fingerlings (26.69±0.75g) were randomly distributed in 18 aquariums 60×30×60 cm, at the rate of 6 fish per aquarium, two replicates for each experimental diet. Each glass aquarium was supplied with air pump water from a deep tube well with continuous aeration. All the fish were fed three times daily at a fixed feeding rate of 3% body weight per day. The quantity of feed given was readjusted every two weeks after weighing the fish. Diets were formulated in 9 treatments, T1 and T2 use rice bran without treatment at substitution levels of 25 and 50% of yellow corn respectively, T3 and T4 use rice bran heating treatment at the same substitution levels respectively, T5 and T6 use rice bran enzymatic treated 750 ml kg-1 at the same substitution levels, T7 and T8 use rice bran treated by heating and enzymatic 750 ml kg-1, at the same substitution levels respectively and T9 for control without rice bran. The statistical analysis showed no significant differences between control (T9) diet and T6, T7 and T8 in growth indicia (weight gain, relative growth ratio and specific growth ratio), food conversion and efficiency rate, the heating treatment was not enough to improve the nutrition value of rice bran, while treated by heating and enzymatic 750 ml kg-1, showed the best solution one at substitution levels of 25 and 50% of yellow corn, and followed by the diet which treated by enzyme 750 ml kg-1 with 50% substitution to improve the Cyprinus carpio L. diets, but it is not the best one in control diet with yellow corn alone without rice bran.
