Abstract

A study was carried out in order to know the effect of different soil salinity at different moisture levels in the spectral reflectivity. Salinization process has been carried out in silty clay loam soil the surface layer from the soil was collected from one agricultural farms in Agriculture college/ University Of Anbar (Abu-Gharaib). The soil were passed from sieve with 4 mm in diameter and then were put in tubes made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) with height of 40 cm and diameter 7.5 cm, the bottom ends of the tubes were closed with plastic perforated lids. Soil columns were put in tanks full with saline water, and then left to be salted naturally by capillary rise. Upon getting the required level of salinity, the spectral reflectivity was measured for samples by using Spectoradiometer at the wavelength from 350 to 2500 nanometer with width of 1 nanometer. The soil samples were directly taken after measuring spectral reflectivity in order to estimate their moisture and electrical conductivity then transferred data to digital data by using ViewSpecPro. MS Excel 2010 was used to make the reflectivity charts. The results showed increase in spectral reflectivity for soil accompanied with the increase in its salt level. An interaction have been found in the visible spectral at high level of moisture. As well as, an absorbance band has been appeared and we think that it is related with salt levels at wavelength of 1750 nanometer. However, the results showed that the reflectivity values were equal in the visible part after soil salty crust formation with different soil salinity level.
