EFFECT OF DIFFERENT CONCENTRATIONS OF HUMIC ACID IN GROWTH AND YIELD TRAITS FOR SEVERAL CULTIVARS OF BARELY

A field experiment was carried out during winter season of 2015-2016 in fields of Agronomy department-College Agriculture/ Anbar University (Abu-Gharaib) that located within Longitude 44° East and Latitude 33°North in order to study the effects of four concentrations of Humic acid 0, 1, 2 and 3 cm3 L-1 in growth and yield traits for three cultivars of barely (IPA265, Bohoth244 and IPA99). A randomized complete block design (RCBD) was used according to the arrangement of split plot with three replicates, where the concentrations of Humic acid occupied the main plots while the cultivars occupied the sub plot. The results of the study were summarized as following:
The cultivars were significantly differ in most of growth and yield traits, IPA265, gave the highest average of number of tillers per area unit (m2), flag leaf area, weight of 1000 seed, grain yield 6.05 ton ha-1, while IPA99 gave highest of plant height, number of spikes per area 491.10 spike m-1. Humic acid concentration significantly affected in most of studied traits, the concentration 1 cm3 L-1 gaue highest average of 1000 seed weight and the concentration 2 cm3 L-1 gave highest average of number of seed per spik 46.49, while 3 cm3 L-1 achieved highest average of number of tilleras and grain yield 6.59 ton ha-1. The interaction between Cultivars and Humic acid concentration significantly affected all studied traits except plant height and weight of 1000 seed, However, IPA265 cv. With 2 cm3 L-1 Humic acid gave highest average of flag leaf area 20.38 cm2 and with 1 cm3 L-1 gave highest average of number of seed per spike 50.60 grain, as well as gave with 3 cm3 L-1 highest average of grain yield 7.74 ton ha-1.

Effect of tillers in growth and yield of maize

نفذت تجربة حقلیة بتصمیم القطاعات العشوائیة الکاملة وبأربعة مکررات فی تجربة عاملیة فی محطة أبحاث المحاصیل الحقلیة فی أبی غریب /الهیأة العامة للبحوث الزراعیة فی الموسمین 2006 و 2007. الهدف من الدراسة معرفة تأثیر الأشطاء على صفات النمو وحاصل الحبوب لنبات الذرة الصفراء، شملت التجربة على ستة تراکیب وراثیة هی" بحوث106"و "5012"و" مسره"و" ربیع"(مجامیع ترکیبیة) والهجینان 3003 و A5XR5 کانت مواعید الزراعة للموسمین منتصف شهر تموز . أظهرت النتائج بأن معدل عدد الأشطاء فی النبات تباینت من موسم لآخر حیث أعطى " بحوث106" أعلى عدد من الأشطاء وکان (2.1) شطأ فی موسم 2006 بینما فی موسم 2007 أعطى الهجین "A5XR5" أعلى معدل لعدد الأشطاء (2.3). لم یکن لعدد اشطاء النبات تأثیراً معنویا فی ارتفاع النبات فی الموسم الأول فیما أثرت فی ارتفاع النبات فی الموسم الثانی حیث أعطت نباتات التراکیب الوراثیة بدون أشطاء أعلى معدل للارتفاع بلغ1.17 م. أعطت نباتات التراکیب الوراثیة بدون أشطاء أعلى معدل للمساحة الورقیة فی کلا الموسمین بلغت 0.33 و0.29 م2على التوالی. لم یتأثر معدل عدد أوراق النبات الواحد معنویا للتراکیب الوراثیة بوجود أوعدم وجود أشطاء فی الموسم الأول، أما فی الموسم الثانی فقد تفوقت نباتات التراکیب الوراثیة الخالیة من الأشطاء بإعطائها أعلى معدل لعدد الأوراق (14 ورقة) للنبات. اما بالنسبة الى حاصل النبات فقد تفوقت نباتات التراکیب الوراثیة الخالیة من الاشطاء فی کلاالموسمین حیث اعطت اعلى معدل من الحبوب بلغ 121.1 و 95.71 غم/النبات على التوالی. نستنتج من هذا البحث بان للاشطاء تاثیر سلبی على حاصل النبات وعلیه یجب ان ننتج تراکیب وراثیة خالیة من الاشطاء.

Effect of harmaline extract on cancer cells

This research aims to explore in vitro antitumor activity of Alkaloids extracted from harmaline.
Investigation of the cytotoxic effect of Alkaloids extracted from harmaline in four Concentrations: (62.5, 125, 250 and 500 μg/ ml). with different exposure times (24 and 48 hrs). The extract was found to affect the cancer cell lines accordingly to the time of exposure and concentration of extract.

Effect of Some Nutrients on yield of Fig Aswad Diala Cultivar

This study was conducted on Fig trees cultivar Aswad Diala, to investigate the influences of Nitrogen, sprying potassium Fe and Zn on the yield and its compounents. Urea was added to the soil after one month from bud burst at 3 levels (0, 500, 1000 g/ tree) while potassium was sprayed at (0, 1000 mg/ L) concentration with and without Fe and Zn at a concentration of 200 mg/ L for each of them as a sulphate after one week from the addition of Nitrogen.
The experiment results can be sumarized as follows:
1. The single treatments with N, K and (Fe + Zn) increased the fruit size significantly and the effect was increased when the interaction between these of elements, the increment was 20.42% and 13.77% for both seasons respectively.
2. The average number of fruits/ branch was increased in the single treatments at a ratios of (11.80% to 15.06) while the increament was 50.52% at the interaction between the three elements.
3. The percentage of fruit drop was reduced significantly by the application of all nutrient elements and specially the interaction between them when the percentage of dropping was (6.19% and 5.11%) an compared with (13.22 and 10.56%) at the control treatment.
4. The yield was significantly increased by the using of each element alone and the ratios were 5.5% to 9.27% while the interaction between the three element was at a percentage of (32.22% and 28.79%) for both seasons.
5. There are a differences between the nutrient elements in their effects on T.S.S , Nitrogen decreased it when its concentrations increased while TSS was increased when potassium used and no significant effect when Fe and Zn were used.

The Effect of Different Birds Density and Levels of Metabolizable Energy and Protein on Broiler Performance

The objective of this study was to determine the effect of birds density (12, 14 and 16 birds/ m2), the level of metabolizable energy (3000, 3100, and 3200 k. cal./ kg. feed) and crude protein (19 and 21% on broiler chicken performance by using 1512 birds aged 28 days.
The results revealed that there was a significant difference in weight gain in the 5 and 6treatments compared with other treatments, while the treatments 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 revealed a significant difference in feed consumption. The feed conversion was well in hanced within the birds of treatment 5, 6, 11 and 12. The weight gain significantly decreased with the increase of the bird's density. The bird's density of 12 birds/ m2 exhibits a significant increase in weight gain (1218 gm.) with feed consumption (2919 gm.) and feed conversion (2.4).
The birds feed diet containing 3200 k.cal significantly weight gain (1196 gm.) with a feed conversion (2.38). In contrast, there was a significant difference in feed consumption in birds treated with 3000 and 3200 k.cal.
The birds fed with 21% crude protein exhibited a significant increase in weight gain and feed consumption compared with 19% crude protein.
It may be conclude that the rearing of birds in a density more than 12 birds/ m2 has not economic importance unless some other factors are available such as good management, suitable feeders, waters and good atmosphere condition.

The effect of adding extract and powder Anthemis nobilis to broiler ration on some quality and sensory breast meat of boiler

This study were carried out to study the effect of adding 0.6% level of Anthemis nobilis (extract and powder) to broiler ration on some quality and sensory characteristics of breast meat of boiler, the data revealed :There were significant (p<0.05) increase in percentage of moisture, protein, Water Holding Capacity (WHC) and the degree of flavor, tenderness, juiciness and overall acceptance, While there were significant (p<0.05) decrease in percentage of fat, cooking loss, drip loss and Thiobarbituric Acid (TBA) and Peroxide Value (PV) and this Value increase when the meat stored for 4 days. There were no significant differences in the degree of pH, Sensory evaluation score (Flavor, tenderness, juiciness and overall acceptance) were improved when the Anthemis nobilis added, and there were a high degree in the sensory scores specially When the plant were added as a powder to the ration. The results of bone darkening showed that the darkening period of storage doesn’t effect when the Anthemis nobilis add in the three period of storage. (1, 2 and 3 moths) in - 20o c.
We can concluded that addition of 0.6% of Anthemis Nobilis caused improvement in quality characteristics and sensory evaluation of breast meat, and use the powder of this plant have a high degree than watery extract for all characteristics we study.

EFFECT OF PLANTING DATE ON GROWTH AND YIELD OF SOYBEAN (Glycine max L. Merrill)

The study was conducted during 2003 and 2004 season in Esghaki to find out the response of growth and yield soybean crop to planting dates. A Randomaized Complete Block Design was used in Afactorial Experiment with three replications. The treatments included three planting dates (Mide Jun, end Jun and Mid July) and three cultivars (Lee74, TN12, DT84). The results showed significant differences among planting dates in seed yield and number of pods in plant. The planting date in the end of Jun gave (2302.52, 2001.96) Kg/ ha. And (32.56, 31.51) pods/ plant in both year of study. The cultivar Lee74 produced higher seeds yield (2265.95, 2170.43) Kg/ ha. Caltivar DT84 gave higher plant hight (61.21, 78.95) cm. The interaction between Lee74 and the planting date in the end of July gave higher seeds yield.

Effect of foliar fertilization on growth and yield of broad bean Vicia faba L.

A field experiments was conducted at Al-hashimia (25 km south of Babylon, Iraq) in 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 growth seasons to study the effect of five treatments of foliar fertilizer (0, 2, 4, 6 and 8 spray times) on growth and yield of broad bean. Dust fertilizer (N 12%, P2O5 3%, K2O 43%, Magnesium 300 ppm, Manganese 300 ppm, Zinc 300 ppm, Iron 500 ppm and Copper 100 ppm) was used at con. Of 0.5%. Random complete block design was used with 4 replications. The results showed that foliar fertilization in the range of 4-8 spray times caused an increase in plant height, branches /plant number, pod numbers per plant, as compared with control. It caused also an increase in the average green pod weight, yield of green pods and dry seeds yield significantly as compared with control and 2 times of spray.

Effect of lines inbreed on characters of semen in Awassi ram

The study was conducted on 18 Awassi rams, Aged 1.5 - 2 years, divided in to two group; The first group (n = 9) red face and the second group (n = 9) black face, Presented in the farm of IPA Goat Station, Agurguf, Baghdad, Iraq. During the period from 1, March 2002, till the 1,May 2002. Semen were collected twice weekly by Artificial Vagina.
The study were undertaken to show the effect of line inbreed on characters of semen in Awassi ram. The following results had been obtained. Higher volume of ejaculate were observed at second group (0.92 ± 0.26) and lower at first group (0.76 ± 0.26) ml respectively. The breed had a significant effect (P<0.05) on sperm Mass activity and Individual motility. Higher motility were observed at first group (72.78 ± 13.26 and 71.12 ± 12.42)% respectively and lower at second group (70.0 ± 12.89 and 68.75 ± 12.07)% respectively. The inbreed had a significant effect (P<0.05) on sperm count per milliliter and per ejaculate. Higher sperm count per milliliter and per ejaculate were observed at first group (2.51 ± 1.43 and 2.39 ± 1.96) x 109 and lower at second group (1.73 ± 1.40 and 1.75 ± 1.91) x 109.
The inbreed showed no significant difference of group on (percentages of dead; pH of semen and abnormal spermatozoa). It was concluded from this study that inbreed affected on some of characteristics of semen and had no effects on other of character of semen.
