Extension training problems for agricultural extension workers in Baghdad governorate

This research aimed to determine the training problems and its priority for the agaric extension works in Baghdad governorate. A random sample of 120 agaric extension workers in Baghdad were Selected to represent about 323 percent from their population. Data were Collected through a designed questionnaire with interview contained a list of ten main training problem. Data were analyzed by the weighted Mean, standard deviation and percentages.
The main study result shouted the inajority of the respondents had a university degree in general acquire and extension. With adquate experiece with and extension jobs. They have a low exposure to training courses in agaric, extension.
The respondents indicated ten main problems for training they are arranged as follows: Training drives, residence, trance selection, trainee problems, timing of conducting training courses training content training rooms. They also suggested solutions for each sub problem. To achieve effective extension training it should consider the above menticed problems at the planning stage.

Impact of the Agricultural Policies on Wheat Product in the Anbar province

This Study aimed at measuring the economic impact of the price support policy policy of price support on wheat producer in the Anbar province ,and measuring the comparative advantage of wheat production systems and determines the cause of leakage in the support provided to them . Hence, the selection of blocks sample from 40 wheat farmers under traditional irrigation farms and 25 under sprinkler irrigation .Its form included economic aspects related to quantities and cost of inputs ,production and other related psychological estimated of causes leakage of positive effects of support prices.
Using of policy analysis matrix elements from estimated rates of quantities of inputs and outputs, according to a regular production of wheat in the province referred to. it was found that the nominal protection coefficient of wheat farmers is greater than one indicating the existence of nominal protection to product prices .as stated the effective protection coefficient values greater than one ,and largest values of nominal protection coefficient ,that indicating wheat producers are protected by the outputs and inputs alike .the effective protection coefficient to wheat producers under traditional irrigation greater than its value to production under sprinkler irrigation. It's perhaps because of state intervention in providing water to them farms.
the value of Domestic Resources cost coefficient indicating that product under sprinkler have proportion advantage than traditional irrigation .the private profit is positive and the values of criteria indicating the benefit farms from the policy of government intervention and local costs for donum it less than gross value added .the results of the analysis of leakage in varying amounts of support and in general show that the support price of the product less leak comparative than b support resource prices.

Water Crisis and it's Influence on Agricultural Sector in Iraq for period (1990-2007)

The scarcity of water resources in Agricultural sector is very critical now. The irrigated agricultural sector in Iraq balled about (85%) from water resources that belongs to the agricultural sector . In the same time there was decreasing in water amount supplying to Iraq from Tigris and Euphrates by the rate (2%), the decreasing in water amount in Tigris was (3.3 %), while the increasing in water amount in Euphrates record annual average growth about (1.81%) in period (1991-2007), this decreasing influence on quality of two rivers water because the salt increasing in both of them. The receptor water rate belong to agriculture in this period was (46.68) milliard cubic meter yearly, and total requirements of water to agricultural purposes was (30.05) milliard cubic meter yearly in study period .The water lost rate were (16.36) milliard cubic meter yearly in (1990-2007).

Effect of planting dates on some agricultural pests on four cotton cultivars in karkok province

Field experiments were conducted to evaluate the effect of planting date on some agricultural pests on four cotton cultivars in the region of Karkok during the growing seasons of 2000 and 2001.Results showed that planting date and cotton cultivar had an obvious influence on pest infestation which was too low except for whitefly Bemisia tabaci Gen and the leafhopper Asymmytrasca decedents (Boali) during both seasons. The lowest population density was 8 individuals/5 leaves recorded on Lashata cultivars planted in 1/4/2000. The highest number of insects was16 idividuals/ 5 leave on Kocker cultivar . The lowest and highest general means were recorded for1/4 and 15/4/2001 planting dates respectively. As for the second growing season , the number of whiteflies and leafhoppers showed no significant differences in most cases. The general means were 7.1 and 1.0 individuals/5 leaves respectively recorded on Lshata cultivar.. The spiny bollworm Erias insulana Boisd was almost absent during both seasons except for the last reading of September for the growing season of 2001. The lowest percentages of infestation was about 9% on Kocker and Marsumi cultivars planted in 1/4/2001 and the highest percentages was 20% recorded for the same cultivars planted in 15/4/2001. The feasibility of utilizing these results in the management and production practices of cotton in Iraq was discussed.

The Extent of Applying By Peanut Farmers To The Recommended Agricultural Practices In Heet City

Because of the importance of peanut crop and planted in large quantity in Heat city and reduction in its production to the allowed limit. As well as the variation of this productivity among farmers. Therefore, this study was carried out to determine the conditions of its planting and to know how the farmers applied the recommended agricultural practices in planting of this crop .
This study involved 42 farmers among 168 farmers to this crop in Heet city. They are chosen randomly. A questionnaire was distributed among these farmers and data were collected .
The study showed a large failure in application of farmers to the scientific recommendations in planting this crop. Also, there was no suitable plan to develop skills and experiences of farmers whom they have the ability in adoption the knowledge devices about its planting . furthermore, this study showed weakness in different media devices to pay an attention to this Crop: This study determine many of recommendations in which the researcher found them to be fundamental and may be participating in developing the skills of peanut's farmers.

Evaluation of bioactivity of Citrullus colocynthis seed oil against some Agricultural pests

Abstract
Studies were conducted to evaluate the biological activity of seed oil extract of C. colocynthis at rate of 10 , 15 , 20 % against Tetranychus urticae ( Koch ) , Bemisia tabaci and Myzus persicae Suiz. Result showed that all concentrations were effectiveness in controlling Tetranychus urticae , Bemisia tabaci and Myzus persicae in the laboratory . Mortality percents were 30 , 100 , 100 and 62.5 , 71.2 , 89.5 and 91 , 93.4 , 100 % for the pests at three rates respectively . Field studies indicated that the rate 15 % was effectiveness in controlling T. urticae with mortality of 99.7 % after three days of application . The realability of using the extract in the management practices against the intended pests was discussed.
