Abstract
A field experiment was conducted at the Al-Hamidhiya research station - College of Agriculture - University of Anbar during winter season of 2021-2022 to study the effect of seeding rates for several flax genotypes. The experiment was carried out by Split Plots arrangement according to the Randomized Complete Block Design (R.C.B.D) at three replications. The main plots included four seeding rates (15, 25, 35 and 45 Kg ha-1), while the sub-plots included four genotypes of flax (Sakha 1, Sakha 5, Syrian and Local). The results showed that the Sakha 1 genotype was significantly superior in the number of main branches , crop growth rate , individual plant yield and oil yield ( 1.60 plant branches -1 , 3.20 gm m-2 day -1 , 0.827 gm and 0.599 tons ha -1 ) while the superiority of the genotype of Sakha 5 in the earliness at the beginning of flowering and the percentage of oil in the seeds was (93.75 ) days and ( 34.57) % and the Syrian genetic makeup in terms of stem diameter was (2.59) mm. The flax plants planted with a seed quantity of 45 kg ha -1 outperformed in early flowering , yield growth rate , oil percentage and oil yield reached (91.92) days , (3.85 ) gm m -2 day -1 , (33.20) % and (0.624 ) ton ha -1 . while the plants planted with a seed quantity of 15 kg ha -1
